Services & Supply Co. Ltd. is an independent, privately-owned
company.
Established
in 1981 with the intention of serving local industry with the
supply of standard cold-forged fasteners, it soon became apparent
that customer requirements were not going to be quite as straightforward
as originally envisaged, and that there was also an increasing
demand for special cold-forged and bar turned products to be
catered for.
In
1983, an opportunity arose which would enable us to obtain
a shareholding in a local turned parts manufacturer. This was
duly taken up, and thus the stage was set for us to expand
into the "special product" market.

Our
newly aquired direct involvement in manufacturing, coupled with
our existing experience in the supply of fasteners, now enabled
us to supply, on a very fast turnaround basis, high-quality precision-made
parts in mild steel, brass, aluminium, stainless steel, plastics
and monel metals. This, in conjunction with the back-up of secondary
operation facilities, including drilling, tapping, milling and
slotting provided us with a good deal of strength in this field.
Finally,
to complete the package, (until such time as we spot another
gap in the market), we decided to complement our current product
range with the inclusion of fasteners, fittings and fixings designed
specifically for use in the manufacture and assembly of home
and office furniture. The ever increasing range of these include
various specially-designed assembly screws, barrel nuts, dowel
screws, wooden dowels, pressings, turnings, spinnings, etc..
|
As
a result of this specialisation, we can now boast that we probably
stock the most comprehensive range of furniture components in
the Midlands, and we pride ourselves in being able to supply
quality parts "off the shelf speedily, and at very competitive
prices. Additionally, we consider it part of our function as
specialist manufacturers & suppliers, to be prepared to become
involved in the production of those "quirky one-offs" that
often end up becoming "industry standards".
